Barrett M 99 Cheek Piece

Postby Doogie » Sun 22 Apr, 2018 2:44 pm

I was told a couple of years ago, Lin Schryver was working with Barrett, to develop a cheek piece for the M 99.
I understand Lin is no longer in the business.
Has Barrett come up with a cheek piece for the M 99?
Stick on cheek pieces are OK but they do not last. Summer sun makes that rail hot, on the line!
Something like the one Barrett has on the M107, would be perfect!
Any plans on offering something like this for the M 99?
Thanks!

I purchased a cheek pad from Barrett ,one that goes on a 107.
I cut and fitted it to go on my 99.Instead of drilling holes into the rifle
I used permitex silicone to attach it to the rifle. works fine.

Great idea!
Will contact Barrett to see if they will sell a cheek piece for a M107.
Did it require very much trimming and did you use a Dremel tool to do it?
Was the trimming mostly done on the Bolt side?
Will look for some Permitex silicone.
Thanks for your feedback!

i used a hack saw and dremel tool to shape and fit the bolt and extraction area.
then you will after your cutting and fitting, you will clamp it on
and use a heat gun to heat and spread it a little because it will be a little
bit narrow let it cool apply permitex and your good to go.

Did you plug the Bolt holes for the Cheek Piece?
When you used the Heat Gun, did it change your fit up on the Bolt side?
Got the Cheek Piece and Permitex, fitting it up.
Wanted to post pictures, but could not post pictures.
Thanks!

I did not plug holes thre permitex will flow into the holes and
will fill them up.as far as the heat fit ,it will only affect the top fit
because it will just spread it a tiny bit,so it wont affect the bolt area.
I will pm you my e-mail so i can send you some pictures,if you want to also give me yours.

Doggie
you might want to heat it first just to be safe of the bolt area fit.
so yes heat and clamp first then trace cut and finish your cut area
