I run my Amax at 5.770 COAL. Quick load shows no over pressure sign what so ever on the program for the load I posted earlier on this thread. Ian


My friend has a small machine shop and he machined an empty 50 BMG case into gauge to measure the distance between the base at the closed bolt face and the ogive where the AMAX bullet contacts the lands...

I measured it 5 times to ensure a consistant measurment... I got 5.753 if I use the .015 recommandation my OAL would be 5.738...

FYI - Chronograph data Barrett M99 32" using (H 50 BMG) and (AMAX 750)...

Started with 220, then 225 and 230. Seems like 230 has a lower spread...

Each powder charge loaded with digital RCBS Chargemaster...
