A couple of differences noticed from the original prototype(s)...the dual rear sling attachment points (which were at 45 degree offsets) have been consolidated to a single attach at the top of the lower receiver; in addition the two offset rails (a really cool and functional addition to the prototype) are gone!

Will Barrett offer the offset rails as an option?

Correct, the rear sling attachment is now ambidextrous in a top position on the upper receiver. I was told that the side rails should be part of the final design, however I can not make that promise.

Yep, that's just a typo. The M107A1-CQ will have a 20" barrel.

What is the hold up of the release of the M107A1? Give us some insight some of us have paid our money for the rifle and it wasn't chump change either, ease our minds a little and please be more supportive of your consumers and give us some info. If not it was worth a shot I guess.

Monsterzero - there's no hold up.

I completely understand you being ready to own one - especially if you've put money down. We're still on track for a mid-year release, just like it says in the 2011 retail price guide. The first production run is currently scheduled for August.

So there is no hold up, no changing final designs, or waitng on some part to be manufactured by someone else? Man im just so **** excited i guess that everything is rattling my cage lately. Because yes it is my first, and I have done alot of prep work for this beast including extending my range from 800m out to about 1500m, changing my scope that i had for it (originally a Leupold mkIV to a NF) sending back rings and settling with a Larue M107 mount with 30moa built in and not to mention having stock piled ammo for a few months now. Then to my biggest obsticale my prego wife who is now due any day now and can sense my anticipation with her super prego powers. Sorry once again for stirring it up but when I first sent my money off they told me April-May, then June, and then July and now your saying August and that was back in March! Oh well I guess if your going to get it right, the first time it takes time, right? :ohno: :ohno: :ohno: :ohno: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Monsterzero - just checked on production this morning. They're saying Oct is when the first batch should go out and I didn't get details on what the hold up is.

You guys are killing me! Im starting to think y'all might be doing this to me on purpose because its my first Barrett! Nice show by the way on National geographic, so is that what the final design is, what was on the show? I didnt recall seeing any side rails. How is it not ready to produce if youve already show cased it on TV, are there changes that are going to be made to the final design, or is it out of the goodness of your hearts your now just gonna throw the supressor in? (just a thought!)

So now I hear it's January, the rifles are built but cannot be released till jan, because the sign-offs haven't happened yet?

We're almost at the 2012 Shot Show...who would have thought we'd be at this point and with the 107A1
still not commercially available? :bs:

I completely agree with you spaceaholic, B.S., they shouldve set release date for um pick a date cause we don't know either, first June July August September then October November now January ( we'll see and I doubt it), oh well I guess I've waited this long what's another month(s). Paid in full since march of this year. Don't kick me out of the forum just saying.
