New member with BORS problem

Postby mbzandhanna » Sat 19 Dec, 2015 1:51 am

I've had my BORS for many many years now and other than the fact that it eats batteries up like crazy I've been pleased with it. I opened a new business last year and life got really busy. I finally got a chance the other day to shoot my rifle with the BORS and it was dead. Not the first time this has happened. This time though, I replace the battery with a known fresh battery and it's still dead. Unit simply won't power up....nothing. Any thoughts or ideas on what or how to solve this? If not, is it still possible to get service on these units? I'm praying the answer out there somewhere is yes.

Thanks

Nothing but silence. I'm highly disappointed.

It appears little attention is paid to the forum by Barrett. I did send an email and after a little bit of a wait Lindsey from the front office replied. She gave me instructions on how to go about getting service for the BORS. She also suggested I talk to Matt March who is either in charge of service or was going to be doing the service himself. I was pleased with both of them, they were extremely courteous. I had a couple phone conversations with Matt and he went above and beyond the call of duty. A few hundred bucks and a week or so later and I have all new updated internals in my BORS now. I'm looking forward to putting it to good use. Matt was a little surprised when I gave him the serial number, apparently I have one of the first 100 units that were sold to the public.
