barrett-specific Torx bits?

Postby melding33 » Fri 23 Sep, 2016 1:52 pm

Just finished installing a scope in some exrings.

The T25 bit fit, but felt loose - I'm concerned about damaging the bolt heads. A T30 was too large.

Is there an in-between size that is correct for the Exring cap bolts and moa bolts?

Well, the zero-gap manual says #25, and I assume it would be the same for the ex-rings. But the 25 did feel quite loose, so maybe I'll find a #27 and see how that fits.

Why don't you just call Barrett? I had no problem with any Torx fasteners.

All Barrett Scope rings use a T25 Torx bit for the scope ring caps screws (4 per ring). The ExRings have two Side Locking Screws in each base that require a T27 Torx bit. the Torx tool packaged in the ExRings has a T25 end, and a T27 end. We do not use specialized Torx bits in any of our scope rings.

Standard ZeroGap Ring installation instructions are on the back of the box. ExRing installation instructions are packaged inside the box.

Perfect, thanks. When one buys things used, instructions are usually missing.
