MY HUNTING TRIP IN NEVADA

Postby Hognuts » Sat 10 Oct, 2009 1:14 pm

HERE IS THE DEER I GOT UP NORTH OF PIOCHE NEVADA, NOT TOO BAD....HUNG IT OFF MY SERVICE TRUCK, THE ULTIMATE HUNTING WAGON....HOPE YOU ENJOY THE PICS....WE HAD A BLAST. :headbang:

DID NOT USE THE .50, ACTUALLY ENDED UP SHOOTING IT WITH A LEVER ACTION 30/30 WITH OPEN SIGHTS, I HAD BROUGHT IT ALONG FOR A BRUSH GUN CUZ I HAD BROUGHT THE NEWLY REFURBISHED .270 AS THE PRIMARY WEAPON, IT WAS WAY TO F-ING HEAVY AND THE SAGE BRUSH WAS TOO THICK, I USED MY BEST JOHN WAYNE MOVE AT ABOUT 50 YARDS....YOU COULD NOT SEE ANYTHING UNTIL YOU WERE RIGHT ON TOP OF IT...NOT EXACTLY LONG RANGE SHOOTING COUNTRY. ;)

Hognuts,

If you had shot that deer at 50 yds with a .50 cal, there'd be nothing left of it. Dead is dead! Good shootin!

Sorry just a little late but good job HOG another pig to add to your collection. Just a little info. you could have that lever gun rechambered to a 50 Alascan .510 bore can use BMG projos. out of a 20" barrel at 2150 500gr has about 4500lbs of energy. Now thats a BRUSH GUN.

Thanks, I want to keep my shoulder in tact...I imagine that the rechambering would result in some serious pain to the operator! I do imagine it would be effective though! :camo:

again nice score on the deer hog. very classy on hanging it from the boom of the work truck. sure does make it easier to hang that way than try n lift it urself to skin

Thank you, yeah, the truck definitely made an easier task of skinning and prepping for the meat locker!
