Barrett Semi Auto Class from NCSA and Schryver Gun Sales

Postby LinSchryver » Wed 26 Aug, 2009 5:27 pm

I have been talking with many shooters and have come up with a Barrett Semi Auto Class.

The event will be ran through the NCSA (http://www.northcoastshooters.com) and we will be having it at two locations in 2010.

Tentative locations are Fort Knox Ky. (with dates to be announced) in the spring, and Fort McCoy WI. (with dates to be announced) in the fall.

The Fort Knox shoot will be a paper target shoot.
The Fort McCoy shoot will be a MRFR pop up target shoot.

If you have any questions feel free to call me at 815.938.9035 or Nick Mullett at 330.674.3244

I am posting the rules below.

These will be very friendly shoots and I invite everyone to attend.

You have to be a NCSA member to shoot.
You can join the NCSA by going to http://www.northcoastshooters.com, click on the events section, download an application, fill out and mail in.
Price to join NCSA is $35/year.
The NCSA events are insured events and this money goes to cover that and also to help with range expenses and to upgrade equipment.

Its looking like Ft. Knox wont work out so we are thinking of moving the 1000 yard paper target shoot to Camp Perry, with dates to be announced.

The Ft. McCoy shoot for MERF targets still looks good as well.

I will keep you updated.

Firm dates will be coming in January or February.

Thanks, Lin

I just talked to Nick at NCSA and here is the tentative schedule for the first Barrett Semi Auto Class weekend.

The dates will be May 28,29,30, 2010.
The event will be at Ft. McCoy in Tomah WI.

At 8am be at the range each day.

Friday the 28th will be a pistol shoot at 100 meters.
Service type semi autos may be used.
This will be military pop up targets.
9am-12noon sight in time
1:00 handgun event starts

Saturday the 29th will be the Long Range Team Event.
There will basically be two classes.
50bmg and any other gun.
The Barrett Semi Auto Class with run with the regular 50bmg shooters, but prizes will be seperated.
The targets will be pop up and will range from 500-1000 meters.
You will get 2 rounds per target.
You get 2 minutes per targets that come up and you have to determine the range and engage on 2 targets within that time period.
This will be a team event, you get to use a spotter to help you range and to call the shots.
1st place in the Barrett Class gets a $1500 gift certificate from Schryver Gun Sales.
2nd place gets a $750 gift certificate from Schryver Gun Sales.
3rd place gets a $500 gift certificate from Schryver Gun Sales.
Prizes from Barrett will also be awarded.

Sunday the 30th will be a Mid Range Team Event.
You can use AR10-AR15 type rifles or also bolt action, should you choose.
This will be a team event, you get to use a spotter to help you range and to call the shots.
There will be 40 pop up targets ranging from 100-500 meters.
You will only be allowed 1 shot per target, you either hit or miss.
You will be shooting from the prone position.
Target speed will be be fast enough you may not want the bolt action.

Hopefully I have explained the course of fire for these clear enough, but if not feel free to call
Lin at 815-938-9035, or Nick at 330-674-3244.
