M107 Lock Pins

This may have been covered before, but I found stainless steel M107 lock pins at McMasterCarr.com. Since I was making a hardware order for other parts I decided to throw these in there to try them out on the CQ. They work perfectly. Very secure so far and look just like the parts that Barrett uses o...

Re: 82A1 MUZZLE BRAKE REMOVAL

I used the instructions contained in this thread and the muzzle brake removal went smoothly, but now the muzzle brake washers seem to be loose after reinstall. They aren't damaged. I don't remember them being loose before. Is this normal or do I have a problem? I don't want to overtorque the muzzle ...

Re: ACR problems

That is strange. On another note, if you need to trade firing pins let me know.

Re: ACR problems

The ACR had a firing pin recall. The initial release of firing pin was causing the rifle to double sometimes.

I bought mine post-recall and have not had a problem. It is a nice rifle.

Re: Model 99 Trigger Question

I had a smooth pull until I had it dipped in water for the hydrographic ATACS camo job. There has to be a way to dissolve any rust or deposits to get my sweet trigger back. He just coated the outer part, but the whole assembly was dipped.

Re: Model 99 Trigger Question

Thanks for the tip. I think I'll try that this weekend. What is going on with my trigger is hard to explain. It feels like one trigger pull is smooth while the next binds halfway through. You can imagine what that does to my groups at just 100 yards. The trigger was perfect prior to the hydro dippin...

Model 99 Trigger Question

I was at the range shooting the 99 when I noticed that my trigger was not as smooth throughout it's travel as it normally is. I took the trigger assembly off of the gun to look at it and all appears well, but it seems like there is dirt or rust in the mechanism (Sear Pivot) that is causing it to bin...

Re: Mil-Dot Rangefinder 2.0 for iPhone

Just run a search in the app store from your device. That would be the easiest way. I spent $30 on the Bulletflight app and it was worth every penny. Get yourself a Kestrel 2500 and a Bushnell Elite rangefinder. My next purchase will be a chronograph so I can make sure I am putting in accurate numbe...

Re: Mil-Dot Rangefinder 2.0 for iPhone

IPod Touch and iPhone run the same apps. iPod Touch makes a great ballistic computer with the Knight's Armament Bullet Flight app. Deadly combo when used with a Barrett M99. Scary good.

Re: My Hydrographic Camo Project: A-TACS Model 99

Frank, Thanks for your advice. You and I are on the same page. It didn't sound right. I'll bring in the barrel and receiver assembly to show him so we can figure out a better way. I should have brought the whole thing in to show him and should have asked more questions. He did a great job on my Mark...

My Hydrographic Camo Project: A-TACS Model 99

I am about half way through my Barrett Model 99 A-TACS camo job. I finished the scope rings, Leupold Mark 4, pistol grip, and trigger guard. I have my rifle completely apart except for the barrel and receiver for refinishing. The local (metro area) shop I am using has experience with the Model 99 an...
